1) Identify the exit strategy you plan to make. Do you intend to sell your business in the next 5 years for a large return? Do you intend to stay with the business for several decades and retire? Do you intend to protect the venture as a family business, and pass it down to your children?
I believe that the best path for me to take with this venture would be to capitalize as much as possible on the application then eventually sell the business. I believe very strongly in this product but I do believe that for my path in life, it is to do much more. Being able to however create and expand this application for everyone to use is the goal, but then allowing it to continue to grow with someone else would be the best.
2) Why have you selected this particular exit strategy?
I have selected this particular strategy because where I am headed in life is simply different to where this application would take me. It has nothing to do with the app itself for I have created it and believe that it can do very well, I simply believe that someone may be able to take it and make it into something incredible, all the while I will still be able to use it.
3) How do you think your exit strategy has influenced the other decisions you've made in your concept? For instance, has it influenced how you have identified an opportunity? Has it influenced your growth intentions or how you plan to acquire and use resources?
Truthfully I had never taken a deeper look at the end goal, I was always very revolved in the now and how to make it the best it can be for the consumer. Now that I see where it could go however I have decided on this particular strategy.
Hey Erin!
ReplyDeleteI appreciated that you were honest about not knowing your end goal and exit strategy. For my venture as well, I am still unsure of my exit strategy. I had never really thought about where I would be at the end of my venture.
I think you are being realistic about how this app fits into your life, there are many others who sell their ideas as startups and allow other business's to expand on them who have a larger revenue
